Tsitsipas enters QFs of Open 13 Provence

Patna : Second Seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, Greece, entered the quarter-finals of Open 13 Provence, an ATP Tour 250 indoor hard courts event at Marseille, France, on February 19, 2020, night, routing World No 75 Mikael Ymer, 21, Sweden, in second round. World No 6 Tsitsipas beat Ymer 6-1, 6-3 in 71 minutes winning 4 break points and 3 games in a row in the match to reach his first QFs of the year.

Defending champion Tsitsipas, in all, won 61 points to 35 by Ymer. He fired 6 Aces in the match to 2 by Ymer. The Greek won 33 service points to 26 by Ymer, who had defeated Richard Gasquet, 33, France, in first round. Ymer also committed 3 double faults. The Greek won 28 receiving points to 9 by the Swede. Tsitsipas, the winner of ATP Finals Trophy in November 2019, will face World No 98 Vasek Pospisil, 29, Canada, in quarter-finals on February 21, 2020.

World No 55 Alexander Bublik, 22, Kazakhstan, upset 6th seed & World No 20 Benoit Paire, 30, France, in a three-set thriller 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 battling back from one set down in second round on February 20 to enter the QFs. Paire though fired 14 Aces in the match to 7 by Bublik. He, however, also committed 6 double faults to 3 by Bublik. Both the players won 2 break points each in the match. But, Bublik won 5 games in a row to 3 by Paire. Bublik won 87 points to 84 by Paire.
