Patna : Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, Greece, the 7th seed, beat 5th seed Dominic Thiem, 26, Austria, in a three-set thriller in the final lasting 2hr 35 minutes to win the Nitto ATP Finals trophy on debut on November 17, 2019, late night, at O2 Arena, London, UK. Tsitsipas secured 1,300 ATP ranking points and $ 26,56,000 cash prize. Thiem secured 800 ATP rankings points and $ 13,02,000 prize money.

Tsitsipas beat Thiem 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 in the final battling back from one set down to win the Nitto ATP Finals crown, the biggest title of his career. The match witnessed long rallies between the two players.

The Greek won 3 break points in the match to 1 by Thiem, who was making his 4th appearance at the ATP Finals. Tsitsipas won 4 games in a row in the match to 3 by the Austrian. The Greek won 73 service points to 69 by the Austrian. Tsitsipas fired 9 Aces in the match to 8 by Thiem, who committed 3 double faults. Tsitsipas’ winning percentage both on his first and second serve (83% & 66%) was much higher than that of Thiem (71 % & 59 %)

Thiem had defeated Tsitsipas in the final of ATP China Open in October 2019.Tsitsipas had won Next Gen ATP Finals title in 2018.
