Tsitsipas beats Medvedev in Group Stage match in Nitto ATP Finals

Patna : Sixth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, Greece, upset 4th seed Daniil Medvedev, 23, Russia, in straight sets in his first match in Group Andre Agassi in Nitto ATP Finals at O2 Arena, London, UK, on November 11, 2019, night. It was Tsitsipas’ first win against Medvedev in six matches.

World No 6 Tsitsipas beat World No 4 and US Open finalist Medvedev in a close contest 7-6, 6-4 in 1hr 42 minutes winning one break point besides winning 3 games in a row. Medvedev fired 6 Aces in the match to 5 by the Greek. Both the players won 51 service points each in the match.

Medvedev had defeated Tsitsipas in straight sets in semi-finals of ATP Shanghai Masters on October 12, 2019. In the same tournament, Tsitsipas had stunned the then World No 1 Novak Djokovic ( now World No 2) in the quarter-finals in three sets on October 11. Medvedev still leads Tsitsipas 5-1 Head to Head.
