New Delhi : The General Body meeting of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. (TRIFED) was held on May 25, 2018, in which the 11th Board of Directors was reconstituted and the Office Bearers were elected unanimously. Ramesh Chand Meena was elected as the Chairperson while Pratibha Brahma was elected as the Vice Chairperson of TRIFED.

MD, TRIFED, Pravir Krishna, welcomed the new members and expressed the hope that with the new leadership, TRIFED will continue its march on the road to tribal empowerment.

Addressing the Officers of TRIFED,  Ramesh Chand Meena, Chairperson, thanked the Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, for reposing confidence in him and urged the officers to leave no stone unturned, to carry forward various programmes for tribal development in the true spirit and vision as envisioned by PM Narendra Modi. He expressed hope that coordinated efforts of the Board and Officers of TRIFED will bring about the change  needed to propel the forest based rural economy on the high path of growth and development.

The new Board of Directors committed to take forward the vision of TRIFED of overall development for tribal people of India through sustainable and comprehensive marketing support of their products and achieving convergence and coherence with other development partners working in this field to enhance their income and improve the quality of their life, according to a PIB release.
