Ara: Floral tributes were paid to Swami Sahjanand Saraswati on his 66th death anniversary on Sunday at a function  organized by Brahmarshi Swami Sahajanand Saraswati Pustakalay, Vachnalay and Smarak Samiti.

Garlanding the portrait of Swami ji, Koleshwar Rai, former head of PG History department, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara,  said that Swami ji was a freedom fighter who championed the cause of farmers and labourers life long. Quoting Walter Hauser, an American writer, he described Swami ji as the greatest leader of farmers and labourers who struggled for their welfare. Trakeshwar Thakur, advocate, said that Swami ji had written 22 books on religion, class struggle and also his autobiography and added that all his books would be available at a library located at Ara Samarak Sthal after July 15, 2016. Abhimanyu Singh, Heera Lal Ji, Prof Ravindra Nath Rai, Ram Nath Thakur, Arvind Rai, Shiv Ji Rai, Prof Rameshwar Sharma were prominent among those present on the occasion.
