Munger: Torrential rain accompanied by hunderstorm for three hours that lashed the Munger town and its suburbs exposed the hollowness of cleaning of drains by Munger Municipal Corporation on Sunday morning.
Munger residents were compelled to stay indoors till noon as low lying areas of the town including Mangal Bazar, Goomti No 2 and 3, Dalhatta, Basudeopur, Laldarwaza besides Bekapur and the main chowk Bazar remained almost blocked with knee deep rain water flowing on the streets and approach lanes. Drains were overflowing spreading accumulated dirt and filth mixed with night soils into several houses.
