Tirupati Sugars Ltd has also informed the sugarcane growers about its decision. The factory is facing the problem of storage of molasses.
General Manager ( Personnel) Y S Bhatanagar said that the factory had produced over 6.32 lakh quintal of Molasses last crushing season (2017-2018), which was stored in three steal tanks and two ditches but could not supply the same anywhere in the absence of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Excise department.
General Manager (Administration), Tirupati Sugars Ltd, Bagaha, SNP Sinha on June 11 informed SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena that due to failure of Excise Department in solving the problem of Molasses, the factory is unable to empty the Molasses storage tanks to store Molasses of next crushing season (2018-2019). Moreover, such a huge quantity of molasses stored in kuchcha pits is also creating pollution.
Taking all these factors into account, Sinha said, that the factory was constrained to inform that it would be not possible to start the factory for next crushing season. Sinha, in his communication to the SDM, Bagaha, has requested him to make arrangement to distribute this area’s sugarcane to nearby other factories.
Meanwhile, Pramod Singh alias Tej Pratap Singh, Member, Zonal Development Council (ZDC), Bagaha, said that the Government should immediately solve the matter as about 1.5 crore quintal sugarcane is expected to produced for next crushing season. Sugarcane is the only cash crop of the farmers of the region and their whole economic activities depend on the sugarcane, he said.
