Bagaha: Tirupati Sugar Mill, Bagaha, in West Champaran district, has paid the price for the sugarcane purchased during lastduring  to  five days into the accounts of sugarcane growers concerned so that their Rabi cultivation does not suffer for want of money. The mill has so far paid Rs.5.87 crore to the sugarcane growers, said factory General Manager (personnel)  Y S Bhatanagar on December 2. Bhatanagar said that the factory having capacity to crush about 75,000 quintal per day started cane crushing season for 2016-2017 on November 20, 2016, and has paid arrears to the cane growers up to November 25, 2016. The Bihar sugarcane purchase Act makes it mandatory for the mills to pay the price within a fortnight from the date of the supply of the cane.
