Bagaha : Tirupati Sugar Limited, Bagaha, in West Champaran District in North Bihar on October 16, 2018, informed the state government as well cane growers of the area that the factory is unable to start crushing in near future. On October 15, 2018, the management had announced to run the factory from October 24, 2018, for current season and in this regard a meeting was also held at the chamber of SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena, between sugar mill management and cane growers of Bagaha the same day.

But on October 16, the factory management went back at its words saying 4,21,423 quintal molasses were still dumped in tanks. Y S Bhatnagar, General Manager (Personnel), Trupati Sugar Limited, said that earlier the management had decided hoping that molasses will be supplied to Nepal and the factory had got approval also from Nepal in this regard but State Prohibition & Excise Department had turned down the factory request for selling molasses to Nepal.

General Manager (Cane) B N Tripathi said that around 1.4o crore quintal of sugarcane is expected to be produce this year in the area and if the factory does not start at the earliest, it would be difficult for the factory to crush the sugarcane.

Bagaha SDM Ghansyam Meena on October 16 said that he had sent a message to DM, Champaran, requesting him to solve the problem after consulting the state government immediately.

Meanwhile, Cane Growers of Bagaha Chhote Srivastava, Rambilas Singh, Sohan Kumar, Badrinath Prasad, Rajan Kumar said that their hope had been dashed to the ground due indifferent attitude the government.
