Bettiah : One Chhatra Devi, 60, a resident of village Harkatawa, was killed by a Tiger under Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran District in North Bihar on February 9, 2021, evening. The local said she was attacked by a Tiger when she had gone to forest graze her livestock, barely few metres away from her house.
Sunil Kumar Pathak, a Range Officer of Manguraha Forest Area, said that the circumstantial evidence suggest that the woman was
killed by a Ttiger. The body was sent for autopsy, police said. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ambrish Mall said that compensation would be given as per Rule to the next of kin of the deceased.
