Three Shabnam Tara murder case accused sent to jail after interrogation

Ara : Bhojpur police on February 27, 2019, evening, sent Alim Quraishi, Ward Councillor and brother of notorious goon Khurshid Quraishi, Maqsood Alam, and Guddu Chor to jail after interrogation in connection with murder of Shabnam Tara. Police had arrested five persons on February 26, 2019, in connection with murder of Shabnam Tara. Police sent three of them to jail after interrogation while released the other two.

It may be mentioned here that Khurshid Quraishi and his goons had killed trader Imran Khan to allegedly capture his shops and also for not giving Rs 10 lakh as rangdari on December 6, 2018, at Dharman Chowk area under Ara Town police station in full public view. Imran Khan’s elder brother Waqil Ahmad had lodged a named FIR against nine persons including Khurshid Quraishi and 4 unnamed four persons in this connection with Ara Town police station. Five of the named accused surrendered before the court and were sent to jail while four of them including Khurshid Quraishi are still absconding.

SDPO, Ara, Pankaj Kumar said that Alim Quraishi and Guddu Chor were charged with killing Shabnam Tara while Maqsood Alam is charged with patronising them. He said that police would take Guddu Chor on remand for further interrogation. He said that two separate FIRs have been lodged with police against them. Police have recovered a countrymade pistol used in murder of Shabnam Tara and a live cartridge from the possession of Guddu Chor.

Khurshid Quraishi and his goons were allegedly forcing Waqil Ahmad and his sister Shabnam Tara to withdraw the case and when they did not yield to their dictate, they shot dead Shabnam Tara and shot at and injured Waqil Ahmad at their residence in Doodhkatora locality under Ara Town police station on February 25, 2019.
