Patna : Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) boss Upendra Kushwaha, who recently resigned from Union Council of Ministers over allotment of seats for the 2019 LS polls and also quit the NDA, suffered a just a jolt on December 15, 2018, as all three legislators of the party – two MLAs and one MLC, declared that they were still with the NDA. They accused Kushwaha, the RLSP MP from Karakat, of pursuing personal interests in announcing a break up with the coalition.
RLSP MLAs : Sudhanshu Shekhar and Lalan Paswan, and its lone MLCSanjiv Singh Shyam, made a statement in this connection here. They also demanded a ministerial berth for Shekhar, a first term MLA from Madhubani district and the youngest among the three. They said that they would approach the Election Commission with the claim that they represent the real RLSP and enjoy the support of most workers and office-bearers in the party. RLSP fought the 2014 general election as well the 2015 state polls as a NDA constituent.
Apart from Kushwaha, Arun Kumar from Jehanabad and Ram Kumar Sharma from Sitamarhi are the other two MPs of the RLSP. Arun Kumar has been charting an independent course for past two years. Sharma is with Kushwaha.
