Saharsa : In a tragic development, three young girls belonging to two families died due to electrocution in the Hotel Gali (lane) on D B Road under Sadar Police station, Saharsa, on January 4, 2018, when they accidentally came in contact with a 1100 volt hanging naked electric were near railway track adjoining their houses while searching for a 9 year old boy Chirag who was missing since January 1, 2018.

The girls had gone the place after news spread that the missing boy’s body was seen in a ditch along the railway track near their house. Chirag, son of D B Road resident Santosh Jaiswal, was the brother of Nidhi, 18, and Masoon, 15. They were accompanied by neighbour Komal, 18, daughter of  Kishore Kumar. The three girls had reached the ditch along the railway track where they came in contact with hanging live electric wire and all the three died on the spot creating sensation in the area.

The death of the three girls two of them sisters triggered strong protest from Saharsa residents who held the railways responsible for the incident.

Incidentally, CM Nitish Kumar was on visiting Saharsa district on January 4 in connection with his ‘Vikas Samiksha Yatra’.
