Three die, over two dozen injured in separate accidents in Bhojpur

Ara: Three persons including a woman were killed and over two dozen injured in separate road accidents on Saturday in Bhojpur district. Irate villagers burnt tyres and blocked roads at both the places after the accident. Senior officials of the district rushed to the spots and persuaded the villagers to lift blockade.  Later, police brought the bodies to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

A married woman Manti Devi, 50, wife of Bijay Singh of Zero mile locality under Udwantnagar police station was crushed to death by a speeding truck near Zero mile on  Ara-Sasaram main road. The driver of the truck escaped from the vehicle after the accident. The woman was on morning walk. Seeing this, the villagers got agitated and blocked Ara-Sasaram main road for about two hours. They burnt tyres and raised slogans against the district administration. They were demanding compensation to the deceased family and immediate arrest he of the driver.

In another incident, two persons were killed while over two dozen injured two of them seriously when a Ara bound mini bus from Maliabagh in Kaimur district overturned into a roadside ditch near Kaura-Mathia village on NH-30 on Ara-Mohania main road under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on Saturday. The villagers blocked the road and burnt tyres after the incident and paralysed the movement of vehicles for about three hours. Senior district 0officials rushed to the spot and asked the villagers to lift the blockade. The deceased had not been identified till the filling of this report.
