Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on August 15, 2018, said his government is committed to punish  those found guilty in some glaring incidents that have come to light recently. He was delivering speech at Patna Gandhi Maidan on the 72nd Independence Day celebrations. Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi and Speaker, Bihar legislative assembly,Vijay Kumar Chaudhary were prominent among those present on the occasion

The CM said some glaring incidents have recently come to light and guilty will not be spared. “Our emphasis is on quick probe, arrest of the accused and speedy trial,” Nitish said.

He was apparently referring to the sexual abuse of 34 inmates of a state-funded shelter home, ‘Balika Grih’ at Muzaffarpur which triggered nationwide outrage. Two women inmates died under mysterious circumstances at a Patna shelter home for mentally challenged women on August 10, 2018, night.

Speaking on corruption, the CM said his government will never compromise on it. We have never compromised on the issue of corruption nor will we do so in future, he said. Nitish said his government is committed to maintain an atmosphere of communal harmony in the state.
