Patna : World No 4 and top seed Dominic Thiem, Austria, World No 56 Lorenzo Sonego, 24, Italy, World No 65 Casper Ruud, 20, Norway,  and World No 69 Albert Ramos-Vinolas, 31, Spain, entered the semi-finals of Austrian Open, an ATP 250 points tournament, at Kitzbuhel, Austria, on August 1, 2019.

Thiem, the 2019 French Open finalist, beat World No 75 Pablo Andujar, 33, Spain, 7-6, 6-4 in the quarter-finals on August 1. The Austrian won 4 break points to 3 by the Spaniard. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match. Thiem fired 5 Aces in the match to none by Andujar.

Sonego beat World No 32 Fernando Verdasco, 34, Spain, 6-4, 6-4 in the QFs. Sonego won 3 break points in the match to 1 by Verdasco. Ruud defeated World No 53 Pablo Cuevas, 33, Uruguay, 6-3, 7-6 in the QFs. Ruud won 2 break points to 1 by Cuevas.

Ramos-Vinolas, who won the ATP Swiss Open title on July 28, 2019, beat World No Jeremy Chardy, France, 6-3, 6-4 in the QFs. He will face Ruud in the Sfs on August 2.
