World No 4 and reigning US Open Champion Dominic Thiem, 27, battled past Russian Aslan Kkaratsev, 27, in three sets 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 rallying back from one set down in 2nd round winning 3 break points and 3 games in a row in the match.
