Patna : Top seed Dominic Thiem, 27, Austria ; 4th seed Denis Shapovalov, 21, Canada; 5th Roberto Bautista Agut, 32, Spain, and World No 33 Taylor Fritz, 23, USA, reached the quarter-finals of ATP Qatar ExxonMobil Open tennis tournament at Doha, Qatar, on March 10, 2021.

World No 4 and reigning US Open Champion Dominic Thiem, 27, battled past Russian Aslan Kkaratsev, 27, in three sets 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 rallying back from one set down in 2nd round winning 3 break points and 3 games in a row in the match. Thiem fired 9 Aces in the match to 6 by Karatsev, who had recently reached semi-finals of Australian Open 2021. The Russian committed 7 double faults to 1 by the Austrian.  Thiem, in all, won 93 points during the match to 78 by the Russian. Theim will face Roberto Bautista Agut in QFs on March 11, 2021.

World No 13 Agut beat Alexander Bublik, 23, Kazakhstan, in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in 2nd round winning 2 break points  and 3 games in a row during the match. Bublik though fired 11 ACes in the match to just 2 by Agut. But, Bublik also committed 6 double faults during the match. Agut, in all, won 66 points to 46 by Bublik.

World No 11 Denis Shapova;lov beat compatriot Vasek Pospisil in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 in 2nd round winning 2 break points and 3 games in a row in the match.  Shapovalov fired 7 Aces in the match to 3 by Pospisil. Shapovalov won 76 points during the match to 59 by Pospisil.

Taylor Fritz stunned 6th seed & World No 14 David Goffin, Belgium, 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 in 2nd round. Fritz won 5 break points in the match to 4 by Goffin. The American also won 4 games in a row during the match to 3 by the Belgian. Goffin though fired 8 Aces in the match to 5 by the American. Goffin committed 7 double faults during the match to 4 by Fritz. The American, in all, won 119 points during the match to 111 points by Goffin, who had won ATP Open Sud de France title on February 28, 2021.

World No 42 Nikoloz Basilashvili, 29, Georgia, also entered the QFs beating Malek Jaziri, Tunisia, 6-2, 6-2 in 2nd round. Basilashvili won 6 break points during the match to 2 by Jaziri. The Georgian also won 4 games in a row in the match. Basilashvili fired 5 Aces ijn the match to 1 by Jaziri.
