Ara : A joint team team of the District Intelligence Unit (DIU) and police led by SHO, Udwantnagar police station, Rajiv Ranjan, on a tip off, conducted raids at village Belaur under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district and arrested terror of Patna and Bhojpur districts Pawan Chaudhary from his residence on April 18, 2018. Pawan Chaudhary is an accused in at least 20 criminal cases including murder cases in Patna and Bhojpur district. He had unleashed terror in the both the districts particlulary among doctors, businessmen and coaching centre owners.
Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar on April 18 said that after extortion calls were made to the owners of two coaching centres on WhatsApp four days ago, he formed a police team comprising the DIU and the SHO, Udwantnagar police station, that conducted raids at village Belaur and arrested Pawan Chaudhary from his residence at the village. The SP said that police also seized a pistol, one countrymade pistol, and six live cartridges from his possession.The SP said that Pawan Chaudary was a terror in Patna and Bhojpur district and was involved a number of murder and rangdari cases.
The SP said that Pawan Chaudhary is sharpshooter of Ranjeet Chaudhary of Belaur village. Ranjeet Chaudhary is at present is in Ara jail. After his arrest, Pawan Chaudhary took
charge of the gang and inducted a number of youth including Abhishek Kumar and Neeraj into the gang. He along with Abhishek Kumar and Neeraj allegedly killed Prithvinath Sharma, a retired armyman at Lodipur under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district on October 30, 2017, for tearing photographs of Ranjeet Chaudhry and Prithvinath Pandit, a sand labourer, on March 14, 2018, at Jalpura.
The SP said that Pawan is also an accused in firing at the clinics of Dr U K Chaudhary and Dr Vikas and demanding rangdari of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh from Kanhaiya Singh and Dheeraj, both coaching centre owners, and Rs 10 lakh from owner of a mobile shop ‘Shivam Enterprises’ under Nawada police station, Ara, Sumit Kumar.
The SP further said that Pawan Chaudhary had confessed his involvement in almost all the cases and revealed names of his associates. He said that police were searching for his aide Abhishek Kumar, son of Anil Kumar Singh, Neeraj Singh alias Nepali, son of Upendra Singh of Lodipur village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district, Mrityunjay Rai, son of Sadhu Sharan Rai of Mehdaura under Azimabad police station, and Rajnish Kumar, son of Umesh Singh of Chhatani under Bihta police station in Patna district. Govind Chaudhary, of Belaur village, are already in Ara jail.
The SP said that Pawan Chaudhary has revealed names of some white collared persons who allegedly extended help to the gang in commiting crime. He said that police arrested Purushottam Narayan, Ravi Singh and Chintu Tiwari, all students, from Sandesh and sent them to Ara jail. The SP said police have also arrested Rahul Sharma of Anaith under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district for allegedly giving shelter to Pawan Chaudhary.
