Raxaul (East Champaran) : Tension prevails at village Chandraman under Chhoradano  police station in East Champaran district in North Bihar and village Sanfulwa in Bara district of Nepal for the last three days. These two villages are located on the right and left side of ‘No Man’s Land’ respectively in India and Nepal.

The residents of both the villages had good relation but on June 10, 2020, Narad Yadav, a resident of  village Chandraman (India) was  allegedly abused and beaten up mercilessly by a Jawan of Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal, resulting in fracture in his hand. At that time,  Narad Yadav was returning on his bullock-cart  loaded with maize through  No Man’s Land.

Narad Yadav returned  to his village and narrated his story to his co-villagers. On June 11, 2020, around 100 angry villagers assembled  near border and started protest against APF, Sanfulwa Camp of Nepal. But, the officers of Mahuawa and Koraiya SSB camps pacified the villagers and assured them  to take up the matter with  APF officials of  Sanfulwa, Nepal.

After some time, some grass cutters informed the residents of village Chandraman that some persons of  Sanfulwa village of Nepal were  uprooting the vegetables in their fields. The villagers got angry and reached No Man’s Land  and started  pelting Sanfulwa residents with stones.The Sonfulwa residents also attacked  them with brick and stone and this fight continued for half-an-hour. Around a dozen persons from both the sides were  injured in this fight.

On getting information, SHO, Mahuawa  police station in East Champaran District, Ram Uday Singh, reached the  spot  with SSB Camp Commander and APF Camp Commande, Sanfulwa,  discussed the matter and dispersed the mob from the spot.
