Ara : Resentment prevails among the villagers and the family members due to police reluctance in lodging an FIR even after two days of gangrape of a teenage girl at a village under Agiao police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar. They are contemplating to resort to an aggressive agitation againstĀ police if the FIR is not lodged at the earliest.They have demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
A teenage girl had gone to the field to attend call of nature at a village under Agiao police station where eight youth caught her , took her to a secluded place, and outraged her modesty. Later, they left her writhing in pain threatening her with dire consequences if she dared say anything to anyone about the incident. The girl somehow reached home and narrated her ordeal to her family member. The family members reached Agiao police station to lodge an FIR but police sent them back saying that the matter would stigmatise the girl and couldĀ create hurdle in her marriage.
The villagers became agitated and said if police did not lodge FIR against the eight accused they would resort to agitation. Agiao and Piro police rushed to the spot sensing the mood of the villagers and started investigating the matter
