Patna : World No 1 in Badminton World Feeration (BWF) rankings Tai Tzu Ying, 24, Chinese Taipei, World No 4 Chen Yufei, 21, China, World No 5 Akane Yamaguchi, 21, Japan, and World No 7 HE Bingjiao, 21, China, marched into the 2nd round of women’s singles of Yonex All England Badminton Championships 2019, a BWF World Tour 1,000 points tournament, at Arena Birmingham, UK, on March 6, 2019.

Tai beat World No 13 Mitchelle LI, 27, Canada, 21-12, 21-15 in 29 minutes in the first round. Tai Tzu won 42 rallies in the match to 27 by LI. She also won 7 consecutive points to 3 by LI. Tai Tzu leads LI 6-1 head to head

Chen Yufei beat World No 14 Han Yue, 19, China, 21-10, 21-14 in 28 minutes in the 1st round. Yufei won 42 rallies in the match to 24 by Yue. She also won 6 consecutive points to 2 by Yue.

Yamaguchi beat World No 46 Beatriz Corrales, 26, Spain, 21-15, 21-18 in 34 minutes in the 1st round. Yamaguchi won 42 rallies in the match to 33 by Corrales. She won 4 consecutive points to 3 by Corrales.

Bingjiao beat World No 28 Fitriani Fitriani, 20, Indonesia, in a tough contest 17-21, 21-15, 21-10 in 54 minutes in the 1st round. Bingjiao won 59 rallies in the match to 46 by Fitriani. She won 5 consecutive points to 4 by Fitriani. Bingjiao leads Fitriani 4-0 head to head.
