Patna : World No 1 shuttler in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Tai Tzu Ying, Chinese Taipei, and World No 3 P V Sindhu, 23, India, are out of the women’s singles of BWF Japan Open 2018 in two massive upset in the tournament.

World No 33 Chen Xioxin, China, beat Tai Tzu Ying in straight sets 21-18, 21-14  on September 13, 2018 in 40 minutes. World No 14 GAO Fangjie, China, stunned Sindhu beating her in straight sets 21-18, 21-19 on September 13 in 55 minutes.

But, World No 8 Kidambi Srikanth beat World No 27 Wong Wing Ki Vincent, Hongkong,  21-15, 21-14 in 36 minutes in the men’s singles. But, World No 13 H S Prannoy, India, lost to World No 10 Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Indonesia, 14-21, 17-21 in 48 minutes.
