Tai Tzu, Chou Tien Chen enter QFs of BWF Indonesia Open

Patna : World No 1 and top seed Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Taiwan, advanced to the women’s singles quarter-finals of Blibli Indonesia Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 badminton tournament, at Jakarta, Indonesia, on July 18, 2019. Tai Tzu beat World No 23 Busanan Ongbamrungphan, 23, Thailand, 21-19, 21-18 in 45 minutes in second round.

Tai Tzu won 42 rallies in the match to 37 by Busanan. She also won 6 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Busanan. Tai Tzu now leads Busanan 7-3 Head to Head.

In the men’s singles, World N0 3 Chou Tien Chen, Taiwan, the 4th seed, beat World No 14 Lin Dan, 35, China, in three-games 24-22, 17-21, 21-13 in 76 minutes in 2nd round to enter the quarter-finals. Chen won 62 rallies to 56 by Lin Dan in the match. Both the players won 5 consecutive points each during the match. Dan, however, still leads Chen 7-3 Head to Head.

Lin Dan is a two-time former Olympic Gold Medallist ( 2008 & 2012). He is also a five-times former World Champion.
