Patna : World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Chinese Taipei, beat World No 4 and 2017 World Champion Nozomi Okuhara, 24, Japan, in straight games to win women’s singles title at Danisa Denmark Open at Odense, Denmark, on October 20, 2019.

Fourth seed Tai Tzu beat 3rd seed Okuhara 21-17, 21-14 in 40 minutes in the final to win the Danisa Denmark Open title and 11,000 BWF ranking points and cash raward. Okuhara, who has won 17 career titles, got 9.350 points and cash award. Tai Tzu won 42 rallies in the match to 31 by Okuhara. She won 8 consecutive points in the match to 5 by the Japanese. Tai Tzu, who has won 25 career titles, now leads Okuhara 6-4 Head to Head.

Tai Tzu had defeated World No 2 Chen Yu Fei, 21, China, in the semi-finals while Okuhara had defeated reigning Olympic Champion Carolina Marin, Spain, in semi-finals.
