Patna : World No 1 and Asian Games Champion Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Chinese Taipei, defeated World No 3 and 2017 World Champion Nozomi Okuhara, 24, Japan, to enter the women’s final of HSBC BWF World Tour Finals at Guangzhou, China, on December 14, 2019. The winner of the tournament will get 12,000 points while the runner-up will get 10,200 points.
Tai Tzu Ying beat Nozomi Okuhara in straight games 21-15, 21-18 in 40 minutes in the semi-finals at Tianhe Gymnasium, Guangzhou, China. Tai Tzu won 42 rallies in the match to 33 by Okuhara. She won 8 consecutive points in the match to 4 by the Japanese. Tai Tzu now leads Okuhara 7-6 Head to Head. Tai Tzu has won 25 career titles while Okuhara has won 17 career titles.
In the second semi-finals, World No 2 and All England Open Champion Chen Yu Fei, 21, China, will face World No 4 Akane Yamaguchi, 22, Japan.
