Patna : Top seed Tai Tzu Ying, 27, Chinese Taipei, and 2nd seed Akane Yamaguchi, 24, Japan, reached the women’s singles final of TotalEnergies BWF World Champ[ionships 2021 at Heulva, Spain, on December 18, 2021. The final is scheduled for December 19, 2021.

World No 1 & Asian Games gold medallist Tai Tzu Ying beat 8th seed He Bing Jiao, 24, China, in three-games 21-17, 13-21, 21-14 in 57 minutes in semi-final on December 18. Tai Tzu won 55 rallies during the match to 52 by the Chinese. Both the players won 8 consecutive points each during the match. Tai created three game opportunities during the match to just 1 by the Chinese. Tai Tzu now leads  World No 9 He Bing Jiao  9-2 Head to Head.

World No 3 Akane Yamaguchi, 24, Japan, beat World No 46 Zhang Yi Man, China, in straight games 21-19, 21-19 in 44 minutes in semi-final. The Japanese won 42 rallies during the match to 38 by the Chinese. Yamaguchi won 4 consecutive points during the match to 3 by Zhang. Yamaguchi now leads Zhang 1-0 Head to Head.
