Ara : On the direction of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, a day long symposium on ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ was organized on the campus of Ara Sadar Hospital on January 23, 2021.

Speaking on the occasion, Nodal Officer, Alcohol, Tobacco &Firearms (ATF), Bhojpur, Dr Praveen Kumar Sinha, briefed through documentary films about the use of intoxicants and their aftereffects and motivated the people to abstain from drugs and other intoxicants in their personal interest and also in the larger interest of their family members. He also said if anyone is addicted, the Ara Sadar Hospital has better facilities for their treatment.

Dr Sinha said that at least 50 cases of substance use disorders attended the meeting. He repeatedly stressed on strong motivation for treatment and follow up post-treatment. Physiotherapist, Dr Divya Prakash, GNM Reena Kumari, ANMs : Veena Arya, Pushplata, Geeta, Psychologist Yashika Ranjan, Counsellor Ratnesh Upadhyaya and others were present on the occasion.
