Patna : World No 9 Iga Swiatek, 20, Poland, and World No 30 Danielle Collinns, 28, USA, reached women’s singles semi-finals at Australian Open (AO) 2022 winning their respective quater-final match in contrasting fashion.
Swiatek defeated World No 115 Kaia Kanepi, 36, Estonia, in three-sets in a close quarter-final match on Rod laver Arena, Melbourne Park, Australia, while Danielle Collins beat World No 61 Alize Cornet, 32, France, in straight sets on Rod Laver Arena. With this, the dream run of both Kaia Kanepi and Alize Cornet in the tournament ended. Swiatek and Collins will clash in semi-finals.
