SVU seizes documents relating to FDs worth Rs 1.65 cr, cash, jewellery

Muzaffarpur : The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) sleuths quizzed former SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar, on April 18, 2018, in connection with the case lodged against him under Prevention of Corruption Act on April 15. The SVU had carried out search operations at Vivek Kumar’s Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Saharanpur, and Muzaffarnagar, both in UP, premises on April 16, 2018, after which Bihar Government suspended him on April 17.

During the search  of Vivek Kumar’s in-laws’ place at Muzaffarnagar, the SVU seized key of six bank lockers. The SVU found Rs 18 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.75 lakh in one of the lockers and documents relating to fixed deposits (FDs) worth Rs 1.65 crore and jewellery worth Rs 30 lakh in another locker. This was confirmed by IG, SVU, Ratn Sanjay.
