Patna : World Number 4 in the WTA rankings and top seed Elina Svitolina, 23, Ukraine, will clash with World Number 24 Daria Kasatkina, 20, Russia, in the final of Dubai Duty Free (DDF) tennis championship on February 24, 2018, at 5 pm.
Svitolina is the defending champion. Svitolina defeated World Number 9 Angelique Kerber, 30, Germany, a former World NUmber 1, 6-3, 6-3 in the semi-finals on February 23. Kasatkina defeated World Number 3 and Wimbledon Women’s Champion Garbine Muguruza, 24, Spain, in the other semi-finals 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 to reach the final. Svitolina had defeated World Number 48 Naomi Osaka, 20, Japan, in the quarter finals while Kasatkina had defeated World Number 23 Elena Vesnina, 31, Russia, in the quarterfinals.
