New Delhi : The President of India Ram Nath Kovind has appointed the senior most Election Commissioner Sunil Arora as the Chief Election Commissioner in the Election Commission. Sunil Arora will assume the charge of office of the Chief Election Commissioner with effect from December 2, 2018. Incumbent Om Prakash Rawat will be demitting the office of the Chief Election Commissioner on December 1, 2018, according to a PIB release. Sunil Arora is a retired Rajasthan cadre IAS officer of 1980 batch.
