Patna : World No 148 Sumit Nagal, 23, India, on February 27, 2021, qualified for the main draw of ATP Argentina Open at Buenos Aires , Argentina, defeating World No 359 Carlos Gomez -Herrera, 30, Spain, in the qualifying round.
Sumit Nagal, who had lost in the first round of Australian Open 2021 recently, beat Herrera in a three-set thriller 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 in qualifying round in 3hr 8 minutes. Incidentally, Nagal will meet Herrera in the first round of the Argentina Open on March 1, 2021.
