Sugarcane crushing stops for 3 hours at Tirupati Sugar Ltd., Bagaha, after death of cartman

Bagaha : Lalchand Yadav, 50, of Naraipur locality under Ward No 13 under Pathakauli Police Outpost in Bagaha police district, who had brought over sugarcane to Tirupati Sugars Ltd., Bagaha, on his bullock-cart on January 13, 2019, morning, was seriously injured on the factory campus and died on way to hospital allegedly due mismanagement on the factory authorities. Lalchand was seriously injured by his own bullok-cart in a rush to cross the factory gate.

This information spread like wildfire among other cartmen and trolly drivers present at the factory gate, who forced the factory authorities to stop sugarcane crushing. The sugarcane crushing remained stopped for three hours as the angry cartmen and trolly drivers were demanding adequate compensation to the next of kin of the deceased.

Sugarcane crushing resumed after an assurance given by the General Manager (Personnel), Tirupati Sugars Ltd, Y S Bhatnagar, that a compensation of Rs 1 lakh would be paid to the next of kin of the deceased. Incharge,  Pathakauli Police Outpost, Rajesh Kumar said that the case was amicably settled between the factory management and the deceased’s family members. No complainant was filed with the Police Outpost, he said.
