Students vandalise Nawada Sadar Hospital

Nawada: Students vandalised Sadar Hospital, Nawada, on January 9, 2018, morning, after the doctors declared an unconscious student brought dead. The Out Patient Department (OPD) was vandalised and the OPD doctor and hospital staff-on-duty were roughed up. The Town police rushed to the hospital and lathicharged the rampaging
students to bring the situation under control. In the melee, a constable, as well as some patients were injured. Many patients had to return untreated.
Mithiilesh Kumar, a student of Gautam Coaching Institute of Navinagar behind Nawada civil court, suddenly fell unconscious on January 9 morning, according to sources. The staff and fellow colleagues rushed Mithilesh to sadar hospital where the doctor pronounced him
brought dead. The unexpected news infuriated the students who charged the hospital doctor of being callous and attacked the doctor and the attending hospital staff. Some equipment were also vandalised.
Police from the Town police station led by SDPO Vijay Kumar Jha brought the situation under control after the lathcharge. A constable Sunil Kumar, patients Nazma Khatoon and her son were injured in the clash. A few students were arrested.
