Buxar : Hundreds of students paralysed the movement of trains on Up and down lines at Buxar railway station under Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, for about two hours on November 6, 2017, by squatting on the rail track and jumping on to the engines of the trains in protest against killing of a student Rahul Singh of Buxar, who was allegedly thrown out of a running train nar Mahoba railway station in UP about a month back. As a result several long distance trains remained stranded at different railway stationsbetween Mughalsarai and Danapur.

The protesters were raising slogans against the central government, railway administration and rail police and demanded immediate arrest of the killers of  Rahul and justice to his family. They alleged that the railway administration failed to take any action against the officials responsible for the incident. They warned that they would be compelled to launch a countrywide ‘Chakka Jam’ agitation if stern action is not taken against the guilty railway employees.

Rahul Singh, son of a BJP leader, was coming to Buxar from Jhansi in a train about a month ago. On way, he videographed illegal realization of money from the passengers in the train by the TTEs, GRP and RPF personnel that angered them. First, they thrashed him and later allegedly threw him out of the running train near Mahoba railway station in UP. Rahul Singh received grievous injuries and later succumbed to his injuries.
