Patna : The agitating students of Art and Crafts College on Tuesday paralysed the functioning of Patna University and disturbed the ongoing Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) examination at Patna Law College centre in protest against Monday’s firing on student at the vice-chancellor’s residence.

The agitating students took out a procession under the banner of All India Students’ Federation and moved from one college to the other raising slogans against the PU vice-chancellor and Art and Crafts College principal. They stormed into the examination hall at Law College, tore  question papers and answer sheets and forced the examinees to leave the examination hall. They also disturbed the administrative and academic activities of different institutions in support of their demands. Students had given a Patna University Bandh Call for Tuesday in protest against the “attack on students” by the security guard of the  on Monday.

Patna University Teachers’ Association general secretary Anil Kumar condemned the ugly incidence at the VC’s residence on Monday and appealed to the students to remain disciplined and maintain peace at all costs. He also urged the VC to talk to the representatives of agitating students and try to redress their genuine grievances. The communication gap between the students and the PU authorities is responsible for the deteriorating law and order on the campus, he added.
