Patna : World Number 12 in WTA rankings Sloane Stephens, 24, USA, has won the WTA Miami Open 2018 women’s singles title beating the World Number 5 JelenaOstapenko, 20, Latvia, in the final.
Reigning US open champion Stephens beat reigning French Open hampion Ostapenko in straight sets 7-6, 6-1, in the final at Crandon Park Tennis Centre, Key Biscayne, Florida, USA, on March 31, 2018, to lift the women’s singles title. It was Stephens’ hometown tournament. Stephens is likely to move into top 10 in the WTA rankings next week with her win at Miami.
