SSC, Patna, to hold spl. programme on Oct 6

Patna :Shrikrishna Science Centre (SSC), Patna, will host a special programme on October 6, 2017. In the first part, there will be a Science Demonstration Lecture to be delivered by famous Science Communicator Samar Bagchi.  Bagchi will explain different laws of physics through small and simple experiment setups. After this programme, there will be another interesting popular science lecture on Black Hole,  “ the fantastic object of the Universe”. This lecture will be delivered by Saumya Chakravarty, Prof. Emeritus of Physics, California State University Pomona, USA.

Samar Bagchi, a former Director of Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Kolkata, and recipient of national  award for popularization of science through media, conducted the popular science quiz called “QUEST” on national Doordarshan from 1983 to 1988. An ex- member of advisory committee of NIE workshop of NCERT, Bagchi has conducted more than 300 hands-on-workshops for science teachers in the country. Bagchi’s programme will start from 10.30 am and conclude by 4 pm and this programme will be for teachers of physics background. Prof. Saumya Chakravarty’s lecture will start from 4.30 pm  and conclude at 6 pm. For both of these programmes, entry is free, according to an SSC release.
