Patna : India’s top shuttler Kidmabi Srikanth jumped to career best second position in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on November 2, 2017, after winning the French Open Super Series title on October 29, 2017. Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, is ranked number 1 with 77,930 points while Srikanth has 73,403 points. Srikanth was ranked fourth in the BWF rankings before the French Open Super Series began.
Srikanth has won Indonesia, Australian, Denmark and French super series titles in 2017. He had lost in the final of Singapore Open Series to B Sai Praneeth, India, in April 2017.
Son Wan Ho, South Korea, is ranked third with 71,738 points while Lin Dan, China, is ranked fourth with 68,746 points. US Open Champion H S Pranoy, India, has jumped one position to be ranked 11th with 53,285 points while B Sai Praneeth, India, has slipped one position to be ranked 16th with 49,300 points. Samir Verma, India, is ranked 18th with 46,572 points.
Among women players, P V Sindhu, India, remains static at second position with 81,106 points in the BWF rankings while Saina Nehwal has jumped one position to be ranked 11th with 55,690 points. Tai Tzu Ying, Chinese Taipei, is ranked Number 1 with 92,759 points.
