Patna : World No 14 Kidambi Srikanth, 27, India, went down fighting to World No 8 N G Ka Long Angus, 26, Hong Kong, in his third Group Stage match at HSBC BWF World Tour Finals at Bangkok, Thailand, on January 29, 2021. Srikanth had won the first game but lost the next two in a close contest.

With it, Srikanth has lost all his three Group Stage match. Srikanth had lost to World No 3 Anders Antonsen, 23, Denmark, on January 27, 2021, and to World No 12 Wang Tzu Wei, 25, Taiwan, on January 28, 2021.

Angus, who had reached the final of Yonex Thaila d Open recently, beat Srikanth in a three-game thriller 12-21, 21-18, 21-19 in 65 minutes rallying back from one game down. With it, Angus won 54 rallies in the match to 58 by Srikanth. He won 5 consecutive points during the match to 6 by the Indian. Angus now leads Srikanth 3-2 Head to Head.
