Patna : World No 13 Kidambi Srikanth, India, on November 15, 2019, entered the semi-finals of Yonex-Sunrise Hong Open after his quarter-finals opponent and reigning Olympic Champion Chen Long, 30, China, retired due to injury after losing the first game. Srikanth had won the first gameĀ  21-13 in 15 minutes.

World No 27 Lee Cheuk Yiu, Hong Kong, upset 2017 World Champion &7th seed Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, 21-14, 21-19 in 38 minutes in QFs to reach SFs. Yiu will face Srikanth in SFs on November 16.

Sixth seed Jonatan Christies, Indonesia, the reigning Asian Games Champion, beat 4th seed Anders Antonsen, Denmark, 21-15, 21-13 in 49 minutes to enter the SFs of the tournament.

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Indonesia, upset 2 seed Chou Tien Chen, Chinese Taipei, 8-11, 21-19, 21-13 in 70 minutes to enter the SFs. Ginting will face Christie in SFs.
