Patna : Sri Lanka (SL) beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the 2nd ODI at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka, on July 28, 2019, night, to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Chasing a target 239 runs, Sri Lanka scored 242/3 in 44.4 overs with opener Avishka Fernando scoring 82 in 75 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes while Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews remained unbeaten on 41 and 52 runs respectively. Kusal Perea (wk) scored 30. Angelo Mathews scored 52 in 57 balls with 7 fours. Captain and opener Dimuth Karunaratne made 15. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman took 2/50 in 8 overs.
Earlier opting to bat after winning the toss, Bangladesh scored 238/8 in 50 overs Mushfiqur Rahim (wk) scoring 98 in 110 balls hitting 6 fours and a six while Mehidy Hasan scored 43 in 49 balls with 6 fours. Opener and captain Tamim Iqbal made 19. For SL, Nuwan Pradeep, Isuru Udana, and Akila Dananjaya took two wickets each while two Bangladesh Batsmen were run out.
