Patna : Sunrisrs Hyderabad (SRH) scored a modest 139/7 in 20 ovrs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2018 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on May 22, 2018, thanks to Carlos Brathwaite’s quickfire 43 in 29 ball hitting 4 sixes and a four. Brathwaite took CSK fast bowler Shardul Thakur to cleaner hitting him for 4 sixes and a four in 18th and 20th over. Thakur took 1/50 in 4 overs. CSK won the toss but opted to ball.

Batting first, SRH made a diastrous start as opener Shikhar Dhawan was out first ball to Deepak Chahar. Wicketkeeper Shreevats Goswamy, Dhawan’s opening partner, was caught and bowled by Lungisani Ngidi after scoring just 12 runs making it 36/2. Captain Kane Williamson got out to Shardul Thakur after scoring 24 runs in 15 balls hitting 4 fours when the score was 36. Manish Pandey was caught and bowled by spinner Ravindra Radeja for 8 making it 50/4. Shakib Al Hasan scored 12 while Ysuf Pathan made 24 in 29 balls hitting 3 fours. Both of them fell to Dwayne Bravo. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was run out for 7. SRH scored 47 runs in powerplay overs ( 6 overs).

For CSK, Ravindra Jadeja took 1/13 in 4 overs while Bravo took 2/25 in 4 overs. Deepak Chahar, Ngidi, and Thakur took one wicket each.

In reply, CSK were 1/1 after one over. Opener Shane Watson was out without scoring to Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.
