Patna : Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scored 134/7 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 44th match of IPL at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, UAE, on September 30, 2021, night, with opener Wriddhiman Saha (wk) making 44 runs in 46 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Spinner Rashid Khan remained unbeaten on 17 runs in 13 balls hitting 2 fours. CSK fast medium bowler Josh Hazlewood took 3/24 in 4 overs, his best figure in IPL. CSK had won the toss and opted to bowl.

Batting first, SRH lost their first first wicket at 23 as opener Jason Roy fell to Josh Hazlewood for 2 runs. Captain Kane Williamson fell to fast medium bowler Dwayne Bravo for 11 runs in 11 balls making it 43/2. Priyam Garg also fell to Bravo for 7 runs and it was 66/3. Saha fell to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 44 runs making it 74/4. Saha hit medium fast Deppak Chahar for 2 sixes in his 2nd over, the 3rd over of the innings.

Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad added 35 runs for the 5th wicket. Both of them fell to Hazlewood in 17th over and it was 111/6 afetr 17 overs. Sharma, who hit Hazlewood for six in the same over, scored 18 runs in 13 balls with 1 four and 1 six. Samad also scored 18 runs in 14 balls with 1 four and 1 six off Hazlewood in 15th over. All-rounder Jason Holder fell to fast medium bowler Shardul  Thakur for 3 runs making it 117/7.
