Patna : Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 11 runs in the 28th match of IPL this seasons at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, on April 29, 2018, thanks to brilliant bowling by Sandeep Sharma, Siddharth Kaul, Rashid Khan, and Yusuf Pathan. RR captain Ajinkya Rahane, however, made an unbeaten 65 in 53 balls with 5 fours and a six while Sanju Samson made 40 in 30 balls with 3 fours and a six.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, SRH scored 151/7 in 20 overs riding on 63 in 43 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes by captain Kane Williamson and 45 in 39 balls with 4 fours by opener Alex Hales, England. Shikhar Dhawan was out for 6 while Manish Pandey scored 16. Yusuf Pathan made 2 while Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh, made 6. Wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha remained not out on 11.

For RR, Krishnappa Gowtham took 2/18 in 4 overs while Jofra Archer took 3/26 in 4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat and Ish Sodhi, New Zealand, also took one wicket each. Ben Stokes went wicketless bowling three overs.

Replying to SRH total, RR cold score only 140/6 in 20 overs with Rahane scoring an unbeaten 65. But, Ben Stokes, England, was out for duck bowled by Yusuf Pathan. Wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, England, was out for 10.

For SRH, Sandeep Sharma took 1/15 in 4 overs while Siddharth Kaul took 2/23 in 4 overs. Spinner Rashid Khan, Afghanistan, took 1/31 in 4 overs while Pathan took 1/14 in 2 overs. SRH have defended some of their small scores during IPL 2018.
