Patna : Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets in the 33rd match of IPL-12 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, on April 17, 2019, late night, with its openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow scoring 50 and 61 not out respectively. Warner and Bairstow added 66 runs for the first wicket. Chasing a target of 133 runs, SRH scored 137/4 with 3.1 overs to spare. Bairstow hit the winning six on the fifth ball of the 16th over bowled by spinner Karn Sharma. It was SRH’s 4th victory in 8 matches in IPL-12. and they have now 8 points. CSK has 14 points from 9 matches.
Warner scored 50 in 25 balls hitting 10 fours while Barirstow remained unbeaten on 61 in 44 balls hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Kane Williamson fell to spinner Imran Tahir for 3. Vijay Shankar also fell to Tahir for 7. Deepak Hooda fell to spinner Karn Sharma for 13.
Earlier, opting to bat after winning the toss, CSK had scored 132/5 in 20 overs with openers Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson scoring 45 and 31 runs respectively. Captain Suresh fell spinner Rashid Khan for 13. Kedar Jadhav also fell to Rashid Khan for 1.
