Sitamarhi: Squall, rain, and hail lashed entire Sitamarhi district on April 9, 2019, morning, causing extensive damage to standanding crops, fruits and habitations. Hail weighing .150 gm damaged wheat, maize, toor pulse and fruits foliages extensively in northern parts of district.

Mud and thatched houses were damaged under several blocks including Bathanaha, Sonbarsa, Dumra, and Majorganj. Several trees were uprooted. Sitamarhi DM Ranjeet Kumar Singh has asked the agriculture department officials to prepare an exhaustive report of damage within three days.
