Saharsa : A Special Train carrying 1,651 student including girls from Kota, Rajasthan, reached Saharsa on May 8, 2020, morning, amidst tight security arrangements. Saharasa DM Kaushal Kumar, SP Rakesh Kumar, and senior Railway Officials had reached Saharsa Railway Station before the arrival of the special train. Platform No 1 area of Saharsa Railway Station was completely barricaded up the place were buses were parked for shifting the students to Saharsa Stadium.

The student belonged to Saharsa, Supaul, and Madhepura District in North Bihar and were studying at Kota. They were stranded at Kota due to lockdown. They have returned home following the initiatives taken by the Centre and Bihar Government.

After medical check-up, all the students were given food packets and water bottles and sent to Saharsa Stadium by buses. DM Kaushal Kumar said that thermal screening of all the students was done by a medical team at Saharsa Railway Station. The bags of the students were also sanitiesd, the DM added. The students were asked to maintain social distancing at Saharsa Stadium, quarantine centres, and  and at their homes.
