Speeding Scorpio falls into river Ganga, no trace

Patna : A speeding white color Scorpio fell into river Ganga breaking the Mahatma Gandhi Setu railing near pillar number 38 on July 31, 2018 at around 5:30 am. The place where the vehicle fell into the river reportedly 60 metre deep. The vehicle was coming from Hajipur, headquarters of Vaishali district in North Bihar.

Three teams of  State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and one team National Response Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were, which were presse into service, had  failed to recover the car or the  body of its occupant till 8 pm on July 31 suggesting the vehicle might have been swept away by the current of the river. The search operation ran all day.

City SP (East), Rajendra Kumar Bheel, said that the search operation would continue on August 1. He said that it was not yet clear as to how many persons were travelling by the car.
