Chas (Jharkhand) : A special assembly was conducted at DPS Chas in Bokaro District in Jharkhand on the occasion of “Phalguna Mahotsav”. The programme commenced with a prayer by Principal Neelkamal Sinha followed by ‘Shantimantra’ and school song. Seventh standard students: Shreenidhi and Ayush, greeted the Principal with a sapling. A beautiful handmade card was presented to The Principal by Aagrima Mukherjee (Prep-C).

Two traditional songs on Holi : “Abki Phalguna Mai Rang Lagale” and “Kashi Holi Rachayo Bhola”, were presented by the students followed by speech on “Holi and its role in unifying Indians” presented by Falak Mishra (VII). The audience was mesmerised by sizzling dance performance by the children and gave a huge round of applause.

Finally, Principal Sinha lauded the performances showcased by the children. Addressing the students, she spoke about the History of Holi and at the same time reminded the students not to waste water while playing Holi. She also advised them to play Holi in Eco-Friendly manner.
